Handling life with grace

Mariposa logo with words Grow with Grace underneath

The next core value that I will be diving into will be grace. At Mariposa, we strive to embody our core values and truly live them out each day. The only way for our core values to hold any value is to exemplify them authentically in our day to day.

Core Value: Grace

What is Grace?

Handling life with grace is to have a disposition of empathy and compassion. Grace is a value that we hold near and dear to our hearts because without it, we would not be able to provide a safe space for healing.

What does Grace mean for Mariposa?

At Mariposa we personify grace in our interactions with our world. We hold on to the idea that every person’s unique path to healing and/or recovery deserves understanding, patience, and forgiveness. Through kindness, empathy, and acceptance we offer you the support that you need, and because of our grace we let go of shame or condemnation. Grace can truly change your perception and acceptance of your experiences, and our therapists can teach you how.

Examples of grace in session:

When healing from trauma it is likely clients come to session with their own feelings of shame and warped beliefs, but at Mariposa with grace, we can create space for clients free of judgement. We understand that each person is as unique as their experiences, and we hold honor to the privilege it is to be trusted to join you on your path to healing.

What does grace mean for me personally?

In my own healing work, and my work with people, I have found that at our core we all just want to be loved. I love the profound effect showing up with grace has had on my relationships. I have seen people lessen their grasp on their own judgements and shame; and I love witnessing them offer their own grace over their experiences. Healing work is some of the most difficult work to do and I know for me I would not be who I am, or able to do what I do, if I was not able to give grace to myself and others.

Are you feeling ready to release shame or judgement you may feel about your past experiences? Maybe you know you need somebody who can hold space for you with empathy and acceptance. At Mariposa that is exactly who we are, and what you can expect. Call or text (616) 284-1329 or e-mail echivis@mariposacounselingllc.com for scheduling or to have any questions answered.
